Need Business Analyst & Software Architect for a FOSS based project
at Koustubha Kale (Anywhere)
We have received a mandate to develop a large web based application on
FOSS stack.
The customer who has given this mandate is a manpower outsourcing company.
They need a comprehensive solution for their payroll and linked
billing, statutory and SLA obligations, field operations.
At this design stage, we need two of the roles in a typical SDLC.
1) Business Analyst
2) Software Architect
1) Business Analyst ( Manpower Outsourcing domain ) :
. The Business Analyst will be responsible for developing business
requirements and related business rules based on customer needs
. The Analyst will work closely with the customer’s management and
Business Subject Matter Expert(s) ( read company’s employees & external
consultants / Auditors ) in the definition, testing, training,
implementation, and
support of functional requirements.
. The Analyst will identify requirements via industry standard
analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis, and
functional decomposition analysis. The Analyst will solicit
requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems
documentation or procedures.
. In general, the role will include the creation/revision of the
following analysis artifacts and deliverables preferably in UML :
2) Software Architect :
Construct high-quality, well understood architecture and detailed
design documents based on requirements and identify and resolve design
issues early in the software development life cycle.
• Building software solutions based on BA’s deliverables on popular
Open Source Frameworks
• Prepare technical design documents, data models using FOSS
alternatives to Visio/Erwin
• Strong working experience with Java / PHP, JavaScript, and
PostgreSQL is required.
• A working knowledge of version control systems like Subversion,
Mercurial, SVN or Git.
• Additional desirable knowledge : Alfresco, BI tools such as Jasper / Pentaho
• Should have worked for at least the last 4 years designing and
architecting web/open source applications.
• Has adequate understanding and experience in various project
methodologies like Waterfall RAD and Agile.
• Be responsible to create software products containing required
features, modifications and architectural maturity over the entire
software development life cycle
• Manage multiple teams and work on multiple phases simultaneously.
