Position: Senior Perl Developer
Type: Permanent
Location: Mangalore
Job Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, able to identify problems and opportunities on ambiguous data, develop creative solutions, and execute rapidly for maximum business effect. The ability to think and make decisions rapidly based on business criteria, not exclusively on technical priorities, is required. Taking responsibility for oneâs own work, and taking initiative beyond minimum expectations will determine the long-term success of a candidate in this role. Ability to troubleshoot and a quality-driven focus are required.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 5 + years of experience in the Internet industry or in a related area.
Required skills:
- At least 3 years experience developing web-based applications. You should have worked with session data storage, relational databases, caching, and inter-process communication.
- Experience with website development, website hosting, and web-based application development required.
- Significant knowledge of and experience in Perl programming. Exposure to standard Perl idioms, the ability to create your own class hierarchies, and familiarity with CPAN are required.
- Understanding of professional software development processes. Including familiarity with the cycles of requirements definition, issue tracking, version control, automated testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Linux/UNIX, Subversion or similar version control, HTML / CSS, basic JavaScript
- MySQL, XML/XSL experience required
- Clear and articulate communication, both written and spoken
Desired skills :
- Experience with HTML::Mason and Cache::Memcached
- Experience in systems administration, database administration, especially replication and performance tuning, highly desirable
- Ajax, JavaScript, YUI experience a plus
Perfer only South Indian candidates
