Responsibilities: Play a key role in Novell’s flagship product, eDirectory. It is a Full service directory providing functionality which includes Discovery, Security and Storage. Discovery function includes Publication, Notification , Search, Identification, Retrieval, Indirection. Security function includes Authentication, Key Management, Qualification, Authority, Enforcement and Audit. Storage function includes persistence, integrity, segmentation, distribution, indexing, caching and classification. Being a leading enterprise class product, eDirectory supports web based management through inbuilt HTTP stack, SNMP support, Auditing and ldap based monitoring. Concepts like multi-master replication, data consistency across geographies, performance and scalability will require key computer science skills. Directory being a cross platform product, work provides excellent opportunity to understand Linux, Windows, Solaris and AIX along with flexibility to use preferred operating system as development environment. Programming language used is C and some C++.
