We are looking for people who want to change the world for good using FOSS. We are working on an open source Management Information System (MIS) for Micro-Finance Institutions (MFI).

Microfinance is the provision of financial services to low-income clients, including consumers and the self-employed, who traditionally lack access to banking and related services.
In simple words, MFIs provide financial services to poor people such as loans, insurance etc. MFIs are very operation intensive organizations and hence need fool-proof IT solutions. One critical piece of software needed for MFI operations is MIS which is the core of their business. This system takes care of a whole gamut of things for them. This includes banking software which takes care of loans & savings accounts, accounting, HR and reporting.
This project is called Mostfit and it is available under MIT license on http://github.com/piyushranjan/misfit and project website is http://mostfit.in .
It is written in Ruby with Merb as the web framework, Datamapper as the ORM, rspec for testing and haml as the templating language.
We are looking for a kickass hacker who is competent in Ruby or is willing to learn the language on the job. We are looking at somebody with experience of at least 2-3 years in building web based software. This person should also be willing to put in considerable efforts to learn the domain problem and should not be averse of working in a start up environment.
Location is Mumbai and salaries would be comparable to market standards
