User Experience Specialist
Description
Join Creative Artists of AUC Ventures and help build revolutionary products for betterment of mankind. We are seeking a creative, collaborative and passionate User Experience Specialist to be the executing force in building a simple yet powerful user experiences to delight our customers. We need you to immediately come on-board with your thinking hat charged, proactive problem-solving skills, and sleeves rolled up to produce rock-solid, hand-coded CSS/XHTML and JavaScript. We are looking for individuals who are creative, artistic and have an eye to look at things in a different perspective.
We hope you're:
-- An Artist. Your specialties are undoubtedly user interface development. Given a new problem to solve, you are able to develop new approaches to complex design problems and can convey ideas into tangible form. You love to participate in concept development, design ideation, and detailed specification of visual designs for user interfaces of the future and existing innovations, prototypes, demos and product. We're a LAMP shop that tends to use Jquery, and that sounds like home to you.
-- Perfect for a startup. You are mission-oriented, and want to have a lot of impact. You don't need constant oversight, but you communicate often and openly anyway. Testing and rapid iteration are the only way to know if you're right, and you feel comfortable knowing that you're often wrong the first time. You like having several responsibilities, and you know how to prioritize.
-- A fit for our culture. We are collaborative, creative, smart-working, customer-focused, and frugal. Each of us can contribute if needed by another teammate, because mutual respect and dependency is part of the setup. Any one of us could pick up the phone and talk to a user or partner. Strong Command of
• Strong understanding of user interface design process and methodology
• Client Side Scripting such as CSS , HTML/XHTML, XML/XSLT, DOM Model
• Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, or similar graphics/user interface design team software
• jQuery (you truly comprehend the ins and outs of jQuery and don’t just “dabble” in it) or similar JavaScript library and comfortable hand-coding and debugging common JavaScript functions
• JavaScript & Ajax Development
• Strong knowledge of object oriented programming / modular programming
• Best practices for cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility
• Creating visual designs and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, and interface elements.
Highly Desirable
• Good Logical and creative thinking abilities
• Basics of Server Side Scripting like PHP, Perl, Python etc
• Knowledge of Joomla, Wordpress & other popular open source frameworks
• Understand SEO, analytics, SEM
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux platforms
