Position :- Build & Release Engineer

Mandatory Skills:- • BS degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2-4 years experience as a release and/or build engineer
• Strong Java knowledge – at least 1-3 years of experience
• Strong knowledge and use of AccuRev or similar version managements systems
• Experience using ANT to build Java-based products
• Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows environments
• Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Python/Perl, Bat), preferably Perl
• Ability to work as part of a distributed team and/or independently to drive issues to closure
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Working knowledge of a J2EE application server such as Oracle Application server, Weblogic, and Jboss.
• Experience with JUnit or other Java unit testing framework
• Strong knowledge of XML
• Experience with web design (php, perl, jsp, javascript, etc)
• Experience with software installation tools (Install Anywhere, Installshield, NSIS)
• Understanding of SQL language and Oracle databases.

Role Description :- Develop and maintain the build processes and scripts
• Implementation and maintenance of daily builds for multiple products
• Creation and documentation of templates, standards, and automation tools for adding and removing projects from the build system
• Identifying and assisting in the repair of build failures
• Maintain user and technical documentation
• Attend team meetings and otherwise collaborate with team on build planning and execution
• Maintain and manage the build system and other development test servers

Job Profile :- The primary responsibility of the build engineer is to design, develop and implement and maintain build automation mechanisms for applications. The build engineer will work closely with development and QA to ensure build test-automation is taken into consideration throughout the software development life cycle. The build engineer will be responsible for nightly builds, development and maintenance of build automation/validation procedures, proper archiving of product releases, release management and enforcement of build guidelines.
