General Description

You will be responsible for building and enhancing near real-time analytics infrastructure that
analyzes and aggregates several terabytes of data over billions of rows. Your primary responsibilities
include design, development and testing of Java/Perl/Python applications in a Linux based
development environment utilizing Hadoop clustering and Map-Reduce Technology.
You will also be responsible for building Shell/Perl/Python based automation scripts for management
and monitoring multiple Hadoop clusters ensuring ~100% up-time for the infrastructure. This is a
hands-on role for someone who has dealt with analyzing massive data sets.

Desired Candidate Profile

This is a clearly defined role with clear responsibilities and clear targets.

• 2 to 4 years of software development (Java, Perl or Python).
• 2 to 4 years of MySQL, PostgreSQL (with advance RDMBS concepts).
• Solid understanding of Apache Hadoop and Map-Reduce.
• Experience with no-sql and column store databases.
• Experience in GNU/Linux.
• Knowledge of Source/Revision Control.

Bonus points:

• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, XP).
• Contributor to open source projects.
• Experience with large databases or data sets.
