The Senior Software Engineer is the primary technical resource for the Veejansh development team. As such, s/he is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the development process by working in conjunction with other team members as the key technical adviser.

The Senior Software Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and accordingly, s/he must be able to identify all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the development process.

Essential Job Functions

Build and maintain product development

• Use exceptional skills to assess the customer’s technical requirements
• Provide guidance to team members for Veejansh solutions
• Manage new customer product and delivery expectations

Support and enhance the development effort

• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs and RFPs
• Gather initial information for potential professional services job specifications
• Convey customer requirements to product management teams as appropriate

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum education (or substitute experience) required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering programs preferred, or Master’s degree in Computer Application

Minimum skills required

• Embedded real-time system experience preferred
• Linux kernel and device drivers
• Self-motivated, with a proven ability to work effectively in an early-stage-company environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
• Strong active listening skills
• Software solution and development planning skills

Minimum experience required

• 6+ years of Linux or embedded system programming using C/C++
• Thorough understanding of the OSI Reference Model, especially with understanding of Layer 2, Data Link Layer and Layer-3, Network Layer
• Expert-level knowledge and understanding of the TCP/IP and UDP communication protocol suite, including ARP, RIP, OSPF, and BGP
• Working knowledge of DHCP, NAT, SSH, TELNET, etc.
• Experience of writing device drivers
• Working knowledge of build/make process
